การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีความมุ่งหมายของการวิจัยเพื่อ 1) ศึกษาระดับประสิทธิภาพการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม 2) ศึกษาระดับปัจจัยความต้องการของมนุษย์ของผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติดเรือนจำกลางนครพนม 3) ศึกษาอิทธิพลของปัจจัยความต้องการของมนุษย์ที่ส่งผลต่อประสิทธิภาพการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม 4) ศึกษาแนวทางในการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติดเรือนจำกลางนครพนม จำนวน 361 คน ใช้วิธีการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบชั้นภูมิ โดยใช้แบบสอบถามเป็นเครื่องมือในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูล และสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ค่าความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณ
    ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 
        1. ปัจจัยความต้องการของมนุษย์ของผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติดเรือนจำกลางนครพนม โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ( X=4.47)
        2. ประสิทธิภาพการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดีเกี่ยวกับยาเสพติดเรือนจำกลางนครพนม โดยภาพรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก ( X=4.35)
        3. ปัจจัยความต้องการของมนุษย์ ด้านความต้องการความสำเร็จ (β =.446) ด้านความต้องการพื้นฐานทางร่างกาย (β=.400) ด้านความต้องการความมั่นคงและปลอดภัย (β=.224) และด้านความต้องการการยอมรับนับถือ (β=.220) มีอิทธิพลต่อประสิทธิภาพการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ .01 โดยสามารถร่วมกันทำนายระดับประสิทธิภาพการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดียาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม ได้ร้อยละ 54.90 (R2Adj=.549) ยกเว้นปัจจัยด้านความต้องการความรัก
        4. แนวทางในการพัฒนาพฤตินิสัยผู้ต้องขังเด็ดขาดคดีเกี่ยวกับยาเสพติด เรือนจำกลางนครพนม ได้แก่ ควรมีการปฐมนิเทศหรือโครงการเตรียมความพร้อมก่อนปล่อยตัวผู้ต้องขังทุกรายที่จะได้รับการปล่อยตัวกลับไปใช้ชีวิตอยู่ในชุมชนโดยเน้นการมองเห็นคุณค่าของตนเองและความรับผิดชอบต่อตนเองครอบครัวและสังคมเพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมทั้งทางร่างกายจิตใจและสังคมก่อนกลับไปใช้ชีวิตในสังคม ควรมีการกำหนดแผนการจัดอบรมหลักสูตรโดยคำนึงถึงถึงสภาพปัญหาและความต้องการของผู้ต้องขังเป็นหลักสำคัญ ควรประสานความร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานภายนอกที่มีความรู้และความเชี่ยวชาญหรือสหวิชาชีพในด้านต่าง ๆ เข้ามาเป็นวิทยากรให้ความรู้หรือให้ความช่วยเหลือแก่ผู้ต้องขังให้ตรงกับสภาพปัญหาและความต้องการ
 

     The purposes of this research included the following: 1) To study the efficiency level of behavioral development of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison. 2) To investigate the level of human needs factors of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison , 3) To examine the influences of human needs factors on developing the behavior of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison, and 4) To obtain the guidelines for developing the behavior of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison. Gaining through a stratified sampling method, the sample group consisted of 361 absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison. A questionnaire was employed as a tool to collect the data while the statistics used for data analysis included frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation. and multiple regression analysis.
    The study revealed these results:
    1. The absolute drugs prisoners’ human needs factors in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison, as a whole, were at a high level ( X=4.47).
    2. The overall behavioral development efficiency of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison was at a high level. (X =4.35).
    3. It was found that these human needs significantly influenced on developing the behavior of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison at .01 statistical level: the need for success (β =.446), the needs for basic physical needs (β=.400), the need for security and safety (β=.224), and the need for respect (β=.220).  In addition, except for the need for love, these needs could be used jointly to correctly predict the behavioral development efficiency of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison 54.90 percent (R2Adj=.549). 
    4. Some guidelines were given for developing the behavior of the absolute drug prisoners in Nakhon Phanom Central Prison. There should be an orientation or preparatory program before releasing each prisoner back into the community. Undergoing the program, self-worth/self-esteem, responsibilities for oneself, family and society will be emphatically inculcated in these prisoners in order to prepare themselves physically, mentally and socially before returning them to live in the society. Based on the absolute drug prisoners’ conditions, problems, and needs, the training course should be planed and established for them to attend. Multidisciplinary officers and experts from external agencies should be coordinated or invited as the guest speakers to lecture, provide knowledge, and help these prisoners in accordance with their conditions, problems, and needs.
