การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ 1) เพื่อศึกษาระดับสวัสดิการผู้สูงอายุและปัจจัย แรงสนับสนุนทางสังคมในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร 2) เพื่อศึกษาระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร 3) เพื่อศึกษาอิทธิพลของสวัสดิการผู้สูงอายุและปัจจัยแรงสนับสนุนทางสังคม ที่ส่งผลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร กลุ่มตัวอย่าง ได้แก่ ผู้สูงอายุที่มีภูมิลำเนาในพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร จำนวน 375 คน โดยการสุ่มตัวอย่างแบบชั้นภูมิ (Stratified Random Sampling)  เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการเก็บรวบรวมข้อมูลเป็นแบบสอบถามและสถิติที่ใช้ในการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูล ได้แก่ ความถี่ ร้อยละ ค่าเฉลี่ย  และส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (S.D.) และการวิเคราะห์การถดถอยพหุคูณ 

ผลการวิจัย พบว่า
        1. ผู้ตอบแบบสอบถามที่เป็นผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคมจังหวัดสกลนคร จำนวน 375 คน ส่วนใหญ่เป็นเพศชาย คิดเป็นร้อยละ 53.90 มีอายุระหว่าง 66-70 ปี คิดเป็นร้อยละ 44.30 มีสถานภาพสมรส คิดเป็นร้อยละ 66.70  มีระดับการศึกษาระดับมัธยมตอนต้น คิดเป็นร้อยละ 31.50 ประกอบอาชีพเกษตรกร คิดเป็นร้อยละ 62.90 และมีรายได้เฉลี่ยต่อเดือน 5,001-10,000 บาท คิดเป็นร้อยละ 36.00 ตามลำดับ

2. ผลการวิเคราะห์ข้อมูลระดับการจัดสวัสดิการผู้สูงอายุในพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (¯("X" ) = 3.97) ระดับปัจจัยแรงสนับสนุนทางสังคมของผู้สูงอายุในพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (¯("X" ) = 3.75) และระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร โดยรวมอยู่ในระดับมาก (¯("X" ) = 4.22)

3. สวัสดิการผู้สูงอายุมีอิทธิพลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ <.05 โดยผลด้านสังคมมีอิทธิพลสูงที่สุด (β = .216) รองลงมา คือ ด้านความมั่นคงในชีวิต (β = .206)  และด้านการศึกษา  (β = .153) มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์พยากรณ์ = .545 อธิบายได้ว่าสวัสดิการผู้สูงอายุทำนายคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร ได้ร้อยละ 54.50 (Adjusted R2 = .545)  

4. ปัจจัยแรงสนับสนุนทางสังคมมีอิทธิพลต่อคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร อย่างมีนัยสำคัญทางสถิติที่ระดับ <.05 โดยผลการสนับสนุนด้านข้อมูลข่าวสาร มีอิทธิพลสูงที่สุด (β = .279) รองลงมา คือการสนับสนุนด้านอารมณ์  (β = .188) และน้อยที่สุด คือ การสนับสนุนด้านแรงงานสิ่งของเงินทอง และบริการ (β = .172)  มีค่าสัมประสิทธิ์พยากรณ์ = .696 อธิบายได้ว่า ปัจจัยแรงสนับสนุนทางสังคมทำนายคุณภาพชีวิตของผู้สูงอายุในเขตพื้นที่อำเภอพรรณานิคม จังหวัดสกลนคร ได้ร้อยละ 69.60 (Adjusted R2 = .696)
 

The purposes of this study included the following: 1) to study the level of welfare for the elderly and social support factors in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province, 2) to study the level of the quality of life of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province, 3) to study the influences of the welfare for the elderly and social support factors on the quality of life of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province.  Obtained through stratified random sampling  technique, the samples consisted of 375 elderly people who domicile in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province.  The tool used to collect the data was a questionnaire and statistics employed for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean (¯("X" )), standard deviation, and Multiple Regression Analysis.

The study revealed these results: 

1. Of all 375 elderly respondents in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province, most of them or 53.90% of all were males; 44.30% of all were from 66 – 77 years old; 66.70% of all were married; 31.50% of all had finished junior high schools; 62.90% of all were farmers, and 36.00% of all had monthly incomes between 5,001-10,000 baht, respectively. 

2. When analyzing the data of the welfare provided for the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province, it was found that the welfare of the elderly in this area, as a whole, was at a high level (¯("X" ) = 3.97). At the same time, the social factors of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province, as a whole, was also at the high level (¯("X" ) = 3.75). Likewise, the quality of life of the elderly in this area, as a whole, was at a high level (¯("X" ) = 4.22).

3. The welfare for the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province significantly influenced on their quality of life <.05 statistical level. Of all these influential factors, the social impact contained the highest influence (β = .216); living security gained the second highest influence (β = .206); and education obtained the third highest influence (β = .153). These welfare factors had a correlation coefficient of .545 which could be interpreted that altogether they could be used to correctly predict the quality of life of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province 54.50% (Adjusted R2 = .545).

4. It was found that the social support factors significantly influenced on the quality of life of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province at <.05 statistical level. Of all social support factors, the information supported to the elderly gained the highest influence (β = .279);  the emotional support contained the second highest influence (β = .188); while the labor, objects, money and services had the lowest influence (β = .172). These factors had a correlation coefficient of .696 which could be explained that altogether these social support factors could be used to correctly predict the quality of life of the elderly in Phanna Nikhom District, Sakon Nakhon Province 69.60% (Adjusted R2 = .696).
